INFORM

INFORM is a Human Rights Documentation Centre, based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It was established in 1989. In the aftermath of the tsunami of December 26, 2004, INFORM has conducted a series of fact-finding missions to the south and east of the island, meeting with its local partners to assess the impact of the destruction caused by the tsunami.

Key concerns at present include strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations and community-based groups in the tsunami affected areas. These organizations play a critical role in the social and economic development of their communities and keep alive the over-arching principles of human rights, dignity, equality, and participatory governance.
