SRI LANKA

This week, the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) and the Federation undertook to reconstruct and rehabilitate 34 health facilities in tsunami-affected areas throughout Sri Lanka. A memorandum of understanding was signed with the Ministry of Health on 14 March, outlining the details of a project which includes general, base, district and rural hospitals, peripheral units, central dispensaries and nurse training centres in 11 affected districts.
